we stayed in this tree house four of the seven nights. when we arrived, the owner thomas, drove down in his jeep to the town of quepos to meet us and escort us up to the house and show us around. it is a gated road and he and his wife just live right up the hill. he even let us borrow his can opener one night! it is a private residence way up on the cliff in the rain forest (i ran up and down that steep, gnarly road many times while we were there. the beach is right at the bottom). very secluded. felt like staying in a cabin. built around a tree that comes through the shower in the bathroom. there were monkeys and a sloth in the trees by the deck. we picked up food at the market and cooked most of our meals. it would start raining buckets in the late afternoon and it was dark by six o'clock at night so we were usually back at the house by then to shower, cook dinner and lounge about reading our books. it was light just after 5 am, so we left pretty early in the mornings to go out for the day.
a fantastic place to stay. we just needed more dry towels!
